Light is everything. If outside, keep the sun behind you and

use indirect sunlight.

Frame subject to one side or other.

Mic them up or get close to hear their voice (kill background noise).

Depth in the background is a

good thing.

You’ll need B-Roll – don’t forget it. 5-10 seconds per shot.

A cheap tripod is worth its weight in gold.

Don’t go crazy with zoom. Shoot twice if need be.
