Some ideas of how you might use Google Maps in your classroom:

• Author biographies• Narrative Development / recall (earlier years) • Mapping of an “issue”: presentation alternative to PowerPoint• Mapping of genres – cultural perspective.

• Skills demonstrated:• Writing• Geospatial• Analysis: in text boxes• Historical: timelines• Research: critically evaluating material for

inclusion• ICT: for presentation, understanding, analysis.

Save map to “my maps”

Add a placemark to the map

Add information to the placemark

Click “Rich Text” if you want full editing toolbar

Add a picture to the placemark

Find and select your picture. You need the image LOCATION

1.Find picture

2.Right click

3.Select “Copy image location”

Click on the image icon

Add a picture to the placemark

Add a picture to the placemark

Paste in the image location. Right click and select ‘Paste’

Once you have clicked “done”, your image will appear like this.

Use this information to see by whom and when the information has been created.

Share the map
