Make your Discussion Plan!

What to Discuss? As the group leader, you lead the conversation. Specific discussion topics will vary depending on your group’s focus & purpose.

Responding to a Post ● Everyone in the group is expected to respond● Response posts should extend the conversation● Response posts should address a specific part of

another member’s post or offer new ideas ● Optimal group size: five to fifteen

Group Specifics to Note● All members do not need to be online at the

same in order to contribute to the discussion. ● In case of disagreements, remind members to

be courteous and gracious with one another as different perspectives can make an interesting and engaging conversation.

Finishing the Group● Consider polling participants about their experience● When the class is finished, follow the directions to

delete the group page and general group information. ● Issue certification credit and certificate to participants

(template provided)
