NX Sheet Metal Vision and Value
Vision
• Design for fabrication, within NX design.
• Fast, easy to use NX application for straight brake
parts.
• Continue coverage of more complex sheet metal
parts (non-straight brake) needed in Aerospace and
Automotive and these industry workflows.
Value
• The value is in improving the quality and reducing
the cost of sheet metal parts by producing an
accurate sheet metal pattern as the correct input for
part manufacture, internally or to a supplier.

Overview
• Focus of this release is improved productivity and
efficiency, including reduction of features creating flanges
and new tab functionality for faster simple part creation.
• Convert to Sheet Metal improvements assists more parts
to become “sheet metal citizens”, with color coded Visual
Reporting feedback.

improves the gateway to manufacturing the physical parts.

Renew Feature

• Renew will cause a legacy feature (created in NX8
or later) to update as per the latest feature version
– effectively “recreate” the feature in the current
version of NX

feature with the same inputs to get the enhanced
functionality in the current version
• User controlled way to decide which feature they
would like to update to latest version behavior
