1. Learn to listen to your children. Influencing

their lives is one of the greatest things parents can do. It is easy to tune out our children, and a missed opportunity for meaningful guidance.

2. Treat your child with respect.

Don't ever forget that your child is a living, breathing human being who has needs and wants just like the rest of us.

3. Be involved in your child's daily life. It will take effort and strength to be there for your child every day, but if you want to encourage your child to develop his own interests and character, you have to create a strong support system for him.

4. Teach good manners.Good manners will follow your children for the rest of their lives, and you should start modeling it as soon as possible

5. Be a good role model. Face it: human beings learn primarily through modeling. In fact, you can’t avoid being an example to your children, whether good or bad. Being a good example, then, is probably your most important job.

How to discipline?

1. Set acceptable and unacceptable code of behavior.

2. Determine appropriate disciplinary action per violation. Punishment should be per violation and per age level.

2. Taking away privileges.

c. Spanking.

“Whoever spares the rod hates their children, but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline them.”

Proverbs 13:24

The purpose of a spanking is not to cause any lasting bodily harm, but to cause spiritual correction....Parents should not fear that spanking will hurt or cause them to die, although some scream loud enough that it sounds that way. On the contrary, it is a kindness to a child, as they will respect authority, if it is done properly."

3. Discuss the discipline process to children.

Most people know Oprah as one of the most iconic faces on TV as well as one of the richest and most successful women in the world. Oprah faced a hard road to get to that position, however, enduring a rough and often abusive childhood as well as numerous career setbacks including being fired from her job as a television reporter because she was "unfit for tv."

Darwin himself wrote…

"I was considered by all my masters and my father, a very ordinary boy, rather below the common standard of intellect." Perhaps they judged too soon, as Darwin today is well-known for his scientific studies.

5. Enforce the discipline

“No discipline seems pleasant at the time but

painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of

righteousness and peace who

have been trained by it.”

- Hebrews 12:11

everyday.
