Short course description:

To develop communicative language competencewhich includes linguistic, pragmatic andsociolinguistic components through reception(listening and reading comprehension), productionand interaction (speaking and writing) as well asmediation (translation) language skills at intermediateuser level (B1.2).

Course content:

The aim of the course is to enable the students tounderstand spoken and written Norwegian and tocommunicate in Norwegian in most situations whichmight be relevant to travelling in Norway as well as todiscussing various topics without having to preparefor the discussion in advance. The form of studiesincludes lectures, seminars, self-study tasks andwork in SANAKO lab and virtual MOODLEenvironment (on-line work, synchronous andasynchronous conversations and discussion forums,interactive tests and exercises). Students gain thecompetence which enables them to communicatelogically, fluently and correctly in Norwegian (both inspoken and written forms) in various situations andget prepared to study Norwegian level B2.
