A Pillar of Islam is performed in Ramadan. It is to ‘fast’.

Fasting is to give up things for the sake of Allah so we can gain piety.

No eating, no drinking, no lying, no

fighting and no bad deeds.

The Qur’an was revealed in Ramadan.

Allah says in the Qur’an, “The month in which was revealed the Qur’an.” (SurahAl-Baqarah, Ayah 185)

So we must busy ourselves in reading the Qur’an a lot in Ramadan because of its virtue, and reward is multiplied.

Dua for Laylatul-Qadr:

اللھم إنك عفو تحب العفو فاعف عني

O Allaah, You are The One Who pardons greatly, and You love to pardon, so pardon me.

The night of decree is in Ramadan.

There is a night in Ramadan that is better than a thousand months.

Recite the dua for Laylatul-Qadr in

the last 10 nights of Ramadan.

Rewards are multiplied during the month of Ramadan.

Righteous deeds are multiplied many times over this month.

Increase in righteous deeds such as reading Qur’an, giving to charity, helping parents and talking good.

Tarawih is prayed in Ramadan.

Tarawih is a night prayer performed in congregation at the Masjid.

If you are not able to pray at the Masjid then pray more at home.

Gates to Jannah are open and gates to Jahanam are closed.

You will notice more people finding it easier to perform good deeds and less bad deeds during Ramadan.

The devils are chained and shackled.

Allah restrains the devils from the believers.

The people with Iman worship Allah

and do more good deeds in Ramadan, even if they are usually lazy.
