THIRDSOURCE

Third Source coordinates a national development program in the third sector of

culture, sports and youth work for the Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture

2007-2013.

The development program has been created partly in response to the changes

in the Finnish municipal and service structures.

The aim of the program is to innovate and test new wellbeing service concepts and to enhance the entrepreneurial and service

skills of professionals in the third sector of culture, sports and youth work.

Services can generate added resources to civic organisations’ main functions.

organisations varying in mission, location and size in the public, commercial and

third sectors.

We believe in the third sector discovering its own way of

using commercial and governmental language in order to thrive in wellbeing

services.

We believe in cooperation and partnerships

cross all borders.

Ourgoals

From 105 local projects we have gathered experiences and understanding of best

practices in third sector’s service production in the fields of culture, sports

and youth work.

We explore local and national as well as European-level models in service

production and promote their implementation.

Through education, individual support and communication we seek to increase

knowledge and skills among the actors.

Through research we call attention to the long-term influences of the actions.
