PROPAGANDA Mobilize: to organize people or

resources for action like war.

War bonds/liberty bonds: certificates issued by the government that promises to pay back with interest on a specific date. People give a loan to the government.

Hollywood stars and sports heroes encouraged people to buy bonds

EVERYONE PITCHES IN TO SUPPORT THE WAR EFFORT

The Red Cross rolled bandages

Families- planted “victory gardens”

Women knitted socks and made blankets for soldiers

“Wheatless Wednesdays” and “Meatless Mondays” Conserve gasoline and energy Women donated corsets Propaganda-writers, artists, photographers and
