• Teeth decay (or dental caries) is an

infectious disease process that causes

damage to the structure of teeth.

• TEETH DECAY is the destruction of teeth structure caused by lack of cleanliness of the teeth that causes the growth of bacteria in

the mouth that lead to dental caries.

It is also known as dental decay or

dental caries.

Brush your teeth with a fluoride toothpaste twice a day, spending at least two minutes each time Use floss or an interdental toothbrush at least

once a day to clean between your teeth and under the gum line Cut down on sugary and starchy food and

drinks, particularly between meals or within an hour of going to bed.

Avoid foods that cling on to the tooth viz. sticky sweet gums or chewing gums, hard candies, lollipops, chewable candies, potato chips, raisins, fries, cookies, cakes etc.Avoid smoking or chewing tobacco - Tobacco causes

teeth decay and stains apart from being the major reason of oral cancer.Avoid energy drinks & colas. They contain acids which

enhance teeth decay. If you consume , rinse your mouth immediately afterwards.Have sufficient vit. D, calcium and phosphorus
