What is Teach to Lead?
Advancing student outcomes by expanding opportunities for teacher leadership—especially those that allow teachers to continue to teach.
Highlight promising models for teacher leadership
Share knowledge and resources
Encourage new commitments
Teacher expertise is essential to the decisions that affect student learning and the profession
Teachers who have leadership opportunities are more likely to stay in the profession
Effective teacher leadership = better outcomes for kids
Why teacher leadership?
Who is Teach to Lead?
30 organizations—and counting!—representing educators and other stakeholders have signed on as supporters
What about principals?
Teach to Lead invites principals to consider the potential of distributive leadership models and to collaborate with teachers to develop models within their schools.
By empowering teacher leaders, principals can ease their administrative burden and enable successful implementation of shared goals
Teacher leadership cannot thrive without the active support of highly effective leaders
