The Weather Garden is a product of the Campus Beautification Committee - makingthings such as landscape, sidewalks and flowerbeds a priority in beautifying thecampus. The Weather Garden is a demonstration project to add an educationalcomponent to the beautification. The Classroom Buildings fourth floor terrace is anincubator to test out ideas, in the hopes of incorporating success into campus widegardens. If nothing else, this effort has beautified a neglected garden on the terrace.

Sunflowers are heliotropes, following the sun in the sky until mature.Once mature, they face east.

The morning glory flowers unravel into full bloom in the earlymorning. The variety planted in the Weather Garden is ‘HeavenlyBlue’; the blossoms color is sky blue with a white sun shining in thecenter of each blossom.

Celosia bloom in all thecolors of a glowing sunset.

Prostrate growingplants in a ’KöppenCimate Zone (colddesert) or Bsk.

The Moon Flower unfurls in the evening (around 6:00 p.m.) or onovercast days, and stays open until the sun rises.
