Start MineSight 3D

On the Splash Screen Click the Browse Button to go to the start of Your project

Click Browse

It Asks You for Permission to Start a Resources Folder for the Project

Say Yes

It Asks You for Dimension Information in a Project Settings Folder

It needs to knowWhetherMeasuresAre metricOr English(ie – Imperial)

For an IllinoisCoal projectThey areProbablyimperial

Next it needs the Area Covered by Your Project

For our project the Minimums areEasting 2882667Northing 801997Elevation -100

The Maximums areEasting 2903787Northing 815177Elevation 500

Why these limits? – because that is where the data set for this projectIs located

Last Thing is Cell Size

Since coal entries areOn average 20 feetWide a a basic cut is20 feet or maybe 40With automation 20By 20 is a good size.(21.12 is because1000 is max number ofBlocks in a direction.19 is # seams we have)

The Program Opens(The next thing we need is a Project Control File)

Go theMineSight tabTo startMineSightCompass(a collection ofPrograms)

Pick Compass from the Pull Down Menu

You Get a Love Note About No Project File Found

The note tellsYou what to do

If you know theFile is thereThen move onAnd pick theFile

We know its notThere so we willGo on and pickFile/New Project

Click OK

On the Compass Screen Pick File

Then pick new fromThe drop down menu

Then pick PCF(you are creatingA project control fileFor MineSight toKeep track of yourProject in)

It Wants to Know Where to Store the File

Browse to yourProject directoryThat you choseAnd then clickOk

The Program Begins an Interactive Screen to Get Information from You

You will need toPick imperial unitsAgain(enter 1)

Each Choice Has a Pull Down List of Options

A 3D block modelDivides the worldInto blocks

A GSM just modelsThings like coalSeams(We pick GSM)
