~Parish Mission Statement~
We are the Family of St. Maurice at Resurrection Parish joined together
sacramentally in Jesus Christ, sharing our skills and abilities across the world to
nourish all human hungers. We continually renew our energies by celebrating
around the Table of the Lord and grow to be more effective ministers
in the name of Jesus. Amen.
"HE LOVES ME. HE LOVES ME NOT. HE LOVES ME..."
"A cloud came, overshadowing them,
and out of the cloud a voice: 'This is
My Son, My Beloved. Listen to Him.' "
—Mark 9:7
"God is for us" (Rm 8:31). He "did not
spare His own Son but handed Him over
for the sake of us all" (Rm 8:32). After
that, will He not "grant us all things
besides?" (Rm 8:32) God couldn't love us
more. He loves us unconditionally,
sacrificially, infinitely, perfectly, and
eternally.
Nevertheless, God does things and allows
things in our lives which we can't understand. Although this should make us
question our powers of
understanding, we are instead tempted to question God's love.
To dispel all doubts about His love, the Lord does not necessarily explain in
detail why things are the way they are. Rather, He speaks to us of His cross.
He does not always explain why we suffer but rather that He suffered and
died for love of us. Jesus joined humanity in its sufferings. Jesus is
Emmanuel, that is, "God with us" in suffering (see Mt 1:23).
To learn the lessons of love in the midst of suffering, we must listen to Jesus
when He speaks of the cross (see Mk 9:7). This is a difficult subject for us.
However, it is Jesus' favorite subject, and because Jesus is our transfigured
Lord and God, we listen to Him.
Prayer: Father, send the Holy Spirit to help me to listen to Jesus
about crucified love
Promise: "I swear by Myself, declares the Lord, that because you
acted as you did in not withholding from Me your beloved son, I will bless
you abundantly." —Gn 22:16-17
Praise: Praise Jesus, transfigured, crucified, risen, and glorified God!

MASS FACTS Helpful information to make our Mass structure and
traditions more meaningful
The Mass Is the Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ, the
sacrifice of his life that He gave for us, made once and
for all on the hill of Calvary, outside of Jerusalem,
around the year 30. The Mass that we participate in, as
Catholic Christians, is the same sacrifice, now made
present to us, today. When we attend Mass, we obey
the command of Jesus at the Last Supper, “Do this in
memory of me.” And from that first Easter Sunday
night, the disciples of Jesus would meet, once a week,
on a Sunday, to do what Jesus had done. In imitation
of his actions at the Last Supper, the priest, who acts in
the person of Jesus, takes bread, says a blessing,
breaks the bread, and gives it to us for Communion. In
the same manner, the priest takes the cup of wine,
says a blessing, and gives it to us to take.
HECHOS MASIVOS
Father, help me to see this holy season of Lent as a time of spiritual renewal, rather than a time of deprivation. Motivate me to reach a
new level of experiencing your grace.

Every Friday During Lent Join us
At 6:00pm for
Stations of the Cross
The Stations of the Cross are a 14-step Catholic devotion that commemorates Je-sus Christ's last day on Earth as a man.
The 14 devotions, or stations, focus on specific events of His last day,
beginning with His condemnation. The sta-tions are commonly used as a mini pil-
grimage as the individual moves from sta-tion to station. At each station, the individ-
ual recalls and meditates on a specific event from Christ's last day. Specific pray-ers are recited, then the individual moves
to the next station until all 14 are complete.
