Introduction

• Dermatology is the science of the structure, functions, and diseases of the skin

• Skin is the organ that covers the body of human beings and various animals

• There are various skin problems• Several skin problems that are more common in men color

Pseudofolliculitis Barbae (PFB)

• PFB (razor bumps)• A common condition of the beard area • Highly curved hairs grown back into the skin causing

inflammation

Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN)

• A chronic scarring folliculitis that can be seen on the rear of the neck

• Occurs after puberty, rare after 50• Ingrown hairs and irritation secondary to shaving • Irritations from a shirt collar or when the scalp is shaved to

produce popular styles
