The Hendry County School Board met in Regular Session beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the SchoolBoard Meeting Room, Sub-office, 475 E. Osceola Ave., Clewiston, FL. Those in attendancewere: Dwayne E. Brown, Chairman; Sally Berg, Vice Chairman; Jon Basquin, Stephanie Businand John Benkert, Members; Paul K. Puletti, Superintendent; and Michael R. McKinley, SchoolBoard Attorney.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Brown.
Pledge & Invocation – Chairman Brown led the Board and guests in the Lord’s Prayer and theSalute to the U. S. Flag
Moment of Silence – In Memory of Elizabeth Galloway - Superintendent Puletti requested thata moment of silence be observed in memory of Elizabeth Galloway. Mrs. Galloway wasemployed at LaBelle Elementary School as a Kindergarten Teacher since October 2003.
Public Comments - Chairman Brown asked if there was anyone in the audience that would like toaddress the Board regarding any agenda item. There was no response.
Final Hearing & Adoption of 2015-16 Budget – Chairman Brown opened the hearing.
Superintendent Puletti asked Mr. Michael Yanosik, Chief Financial Officer, to present the budget.
After the presentation, Mr. Yanosik answered questions posed by the Board.
After the presentation of the budget, Chairman Brown asked if anyone in the audience had anyfurther questions or input in regards to the 2015-16 Official Budget as advertised.
There being no response, Chairman Brown closed the hearing.
Superintendent Puletti announced the following:
1. That the taxing authority is the District School Board of Hendry County.2. The State Rolled-back Rate is: 4.9342 mills3. The Local Rolled-back Rate is: 2.2017 mills4. The Total Rolled-back Rate increase is: 0.63%
Superintendent Puletti recommended the following millage levies:
General Operating millage levy: 4.933 millsBasic Discretionary millage levy for General Operating: 0.748 millsBasic Discretionary millage levy for Capital Outlay: 1.500 millsAdditional millage 0.000 mills

Board Member Business -
1. Mayor Phillip Roland and City Representatives addressed the Board regarding SugarlandSports Complex. They provided the Board a handout that outlined the expenses formaintaining the fields for softball, baseball and soccer that are utilized by Clewiston HighSchool and requested the Board consider contributing an annual monetary amount to assist theCity of Clewiston with these costs. Superintendent Puletti stated that he will work with theCity of Clewiston and will provide any recommendations to the Board.

2. Hurricane Make-up Day - On motion by Sally Berg and second by Stephanie Busin, the Boardunanimously approved October 16, 2015 as the make-up day for the school day missed due toTropical Storm Erika (Aug. 31, 2015) as recommended by Superintendent Puletti.
