What Is XRF?

• Analytical Method For Determining Elemental Content

• Qualitative And Quantitative

• Mg - U

• Fast – All Elements At Once

• Wide Range (PPM to 100%)

• Accurate & Precise

• Non Destructive

• Near Surface

How Does It Work?

An X-ray of sufficient energy strikes an inner

shell electron of an atom in the sample, ejecting the electron

from its orbit.

Next-- an electron from an outer shell

moves to fill the vacancy in the inner

shell.

An X-ray photon is released and hits the analyzer’s detector.

This photon’s energy is unique to the element

it came from.
