How Does It Work?
An X-ray of sufficient energy strikes an inner
shell electron of an atom in the sample, ejecting the electron
from its orbit.
Next-- an electron from an outer shell
moves to fill the vacancy in the inner
shell.
An X-ray photon is released and hits the analyzer’s detector.
This photon’s energy is unique to the element
it came from.

Handheld XRF ApplicationsIndustrial Minerals
• Limestone, Calcium carbonate (CaCO3) is one of the most versatile minerals found in the earth's crust. Physical properties and low processing cost makes it the most widely used filler material.
• Handheld XRF can be used to measure Calcium carbonate composition directly from rock or from quarry. This information can be used to effectively control mining and excavation process.
• Sand and Feldspar grade and Fe control
