Rust College Hosts Graduate School Day 2013
Representatives and recruiters from several graduate schools around the region visited Rust College for the annual Graduate
School Day, held Monday, September 16. Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors were all invited to speak with representatives
about their options for graduate studies. Schools included the University of Memphis, The University of Mississippi (Ole
Miss), Jackson, State University, Delta State University, Alabama A&M, Arkansas State University and many more.
Graduating senior Shana Hampton of Chicago was eager to speak to recruiters. Shana is currently majoring in Child Care
Management and working on a double minor of Business Education and Early Childhood Education. However, when asked
what she would like to do for a living?
I want to be a dentist, she said laughing. I really like working with kids though, so maybe pediatric dentistry. One day I
want to open my own practice. Shana said programs like Graduate School Day are instrumental to making the transition out
of school. Graduate School Day is a great idea! It helps give us different options to choose from and lets us know that we can
continue school after undergrad. The recruiters are all very lenient; finding ways to work with us and keep us motivated.
