RoundPegSearch: Culture Guide

“creating a company we love”

our mission“make work better”

Pay-cheques matter, but purpose matters more

(as do people)

an engaging workplace, where we grow & learn and where we want be involved everyday.

we find them the best people; who want to do the job & know how to do it, then we help them get more from their people.

we help them find the right role and culture for them, even if it means some brutal truths along the way.

what this means:

for us

for our clients

for our candidates

this are guided by our values:

brave

collaborative

true

brave

collaborative

true

we take tough decisions, we make difficult calls & we embrace challenges

we don’t just strive for win-wins, we look to help our clients grow (so we will grow too) and we pay things forward

we are honest with clients and candidates, but most of all we are honest with ourselves. so if somebody or situation is not congruent with our values we gracefully walk away

who are we

who we are

a teamwe all play our part to achieve success together

expertsin our markets, clients, candidates and our industry

being part of us =“the right drive(rs)”

1. being maniacal about our mission

2. striving to solve for our clients

3. being radically transparent

4. being autonomous not autocratical

5. being unreasonably picky about our people / partners / clients / candidates

6. investing in ourselves & our market value

7. constantly questioning the status quo

“the right mindset”

being part of us =

1. being focussed

2. letting our results speak for themselves

3. letting our best characteristics shine through

4. never bickering / letting things ride / holding grudges

5. never being careless

6. never being lacklustre

7. always keeping our self-importance in check

“results matter”

being part of us =

“results matter more than the hours we work”

“results matter more than where we produce them”

“results matter more than how much vacation we take”

“using good judgement”

being part of us =

1. our main policy is common sense (just because one person made/might make a mistake it doesn’t mean we need a policy)

2. we only protect against the big stuff

3. having the courage to call out one of our own if they are ‘yinning’ when everyone else is ‘yanning’

“taking care”

being part of us =

1. recognising that using simple passwords/un-attended laptops/over-head conversations leave us vulnerable

2. never copying in clients(s) by mistake to internal/private emails

3. thinking about what you’re saying, and who it impacts, before saying it

4. taking care of sensitive papers, print-outs and documents

5. never forgetting that our foundation is trust, discretion and confidentiality

“flexibility and balance”

being part of us =

1. never saying “we don’t do it that way”

2. recognising when you need a break and taking it

3. making the out of hours call when its needed

4. working from home/hot-desk/cafe/hotel when it makes sense

5. giving yourself the headspace to perform to the maximum

we just ask:

1. you keep the communication lines openBe very available. Since we don’t all work in the same place and face-to-face meetings are minimal then we need to ensure that colleagues and/or clients don’t feel disconnected. Slack, Phone, Email and Skype at minimum.

2. you get sh*t doneWorking remotely can be great, but chances are you’ll have a bunch of distractions. Get the job done, no excuses.

3. you come with a plan (for you day/week/month/year)

Having a plan means getting to the goal/target/result quicker and less stressfully. Be kind to yourself and your colleagues.

Culture is important“Customers will never love a company unless

its own people love it first” Simon Sinek
