On 27th March 2011 all residents in the UK will be asked to take part in the Census by completing a questionnaire about theirhousehold.

The Office for NationalStatistics (ONS) estimatethat each person countedin the census is worth£5,000 to the localauthority over 10 years.

This means that anundercount of just 100people could mean localauthorities miss out on£500,000 worth of funding.

We want you to fill the 2011Census questionnaire anddeclare your religiousidentity as “RAVIDASSIA”.

How will the 2011 Census help us to establish our ownreligious identity?

This will help us to answer two questions that we getasked by people we come across in our daily lives.

What is your religion?How many Ravidassia reside in the UK?

The Census data will be able to answer both questionsand act as an official document which is undisputed bylocal and international government agencies.

The Census data is used by everybody in the UK from local authorities to central government and their agencies to distribute funding and to make policies.

How can you help with the 2011 Census?

• To engage the people with the 2011 census questionnaire

• To tick the OTHER box on question 20 in theCensus questionnaire and write “RAVIDASSIA” inthe comment box.

• To tell all your family and friends to declare theirreligious identity as “RAVIDASSIA”

• To fill the questionnaire yourself and support thosearound you to do the same.

• Promise today to tell 20 people to fill the form

What can our local committees do to help?

• To make the congregation aware of the Census 2011

• To hold a drop-in centre at the local places of worshipduring March 2011 and help members to fill the form

• To have 2011 Census display during GuruRavidass Jiʼs birth anniversary celebration
