• 2oth Century Fox, this is one of the six major American film studios their base is located in los angels, It is the worlds second largest major film studio after warner bros. The company was formed on May 31, 1935 when Fox Film Cooperation and Twentieth Century Pictures merged together and was founded by Darryl Zanuck and Joseph Shenck.

Film Background

• The film was directed by Ridley Scott, the same person who directed ‘Alien’, The development of the film began in the late 200,1 as a 5th sequel to the other movie Ridley Scott directed ‘Alien’. The plot of the film is set in the near future, follows the crew of the Prometheus as they follow a map found in old remains on earth to find the begging of humanity .

• This light could be assign of hope or discovery, as it contrast the black background the fact that they heading towards the light could mean going towards a better place or discover what they are looking for. This also the establishing shot, which tells the audience when the film is set, but also that it is not set on earth.

• From the start you can tell that there are going to be science fiction element to the film. This also creates suspense because you do not what is coming out the pod. This could also be connected to alien which means Ridley Scott is trying to say something is hatching like an egg. This is the same colour as the egg in alien.

• This is a very foggy picture, which tells us it was set somewhere quite high on an mountain on a very cold day. This is another establishing shot of where the film will actually be set.

there is barely any lights, giving bits the of the plot. The camera angle makes the actor use an indirect mode of contact. But the actors are forced to use physical theatre to make the audience understand them instead of facial expression. This shows us how futuristic feel to the movie is, because we do not have technology like this in our time.

• The light that is being shined on the carving is indicating hope in dark days, as it is the only light in this scene. The man is the carving is trying to tell the audience what the plot is going to be about.

• A lot of the things used in this trailer are used in the other alien trailers. Which links Ridley Scott's Directorship to the rest of the movies.
