The PPS Web New Hire! – A web-based, more user-friendly method
of entering new hires into PPS
– An alternative—but not a replacement—to
the existing SHIR and AHIR bundles
– Available for immediate use at:

PPS Web Enhancement Project
Multi-campus effort to create a web interface for PPS, starting with the new hire process – Participating campuses: Davis, Irvine, LA,
Riverside, San Diego & Santa Barbara
No changes to the underlying PPS structure
Future development of other PPS functions – rehires, appointment changes, leaves & separations

Online survey for PPS users was conducted
in Fall 2008
Focus group was formed for each
participating campus
– Provided “wish list” for project
– Aided in testing and piloting

Access is automatic with regular PPS access
Web entry only for new hire
– Corrections or changes still need to be made in regular PPS
Transaction may be suspended for one day

– Must set up data before creating template
