3. Position Purpose
The position is responsible for the delivery of bushland policy, strategy and management of the bushland team. The Bushland team delivers weed and vegetation management, recreational trail management, fuel management, open space management, volunteer support and ecological monitoring services on Council managed land.
As a senior member of the Parks and Environment Department you will provide leadership and contribute to strategic planning for the Department.
All positions will be required to undertake roles and activities related to Business Continuity and Emergency Management in preparation for and during times of crisis.

5. Position Specific Specialisations
Extensive experience in bushland management Understanding of the environmental, social / cultural and economic issues relevant to bushland
management Highly developed report writing and communication skills for the transfer of technical
environmental knowledge to a range of audiences. Ability to use the full range of Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Word Excel, Outlook,
PowerPoint). Willingness to occasionally work after hours as per position requirements and Department
priorities.

7. Position Specific Qualifications/Memberships
Tertiary qualification in conservation land management or Advanced Certificate Conservation Land Management (or similar), with extensive experience in conservation land management.

10. Physical Requirements
The applicant must possess the ability to perform set tasks, site visits and access areas at sites of rough terrain such as un-constructed road reserves, crushed rock roads, bushland roadsides & reserves.
The applicant must be able to carry out tasks including:• Walking up to 2km max at any one time on rough terrain• Operating Vehicles – Cars, Utilities• Access large vehicles – Backhoe, Travel Tower, etc• Climbing on scaffolding, ladders etc
Ability to perform manual tasks including • Lifting equipment, signs, boxes of paper, supplies etc 10 - 20kg• Using manual tools – wheel burrow, shovels, etc
