GDAŃSK 2015
What is our goal?
Our goal is to spread the idea of cross-cultural understanding and openness towards other cultures amoung children in Pomerania Province. We want to inspire and motivate them to be entrepreneurial and proactive, more aware of cultural differences and value of diversity. We want them to become richer with open-mindedness, tolerance and proactive attitude. We believe that this goal can be achieved. How? By providing them with workshops referring to a wide range of aspects concerning a variety of cultures, learning languages, playing with them, spending time and doing many other activities which will be led by inspiring young people from all over the world.
We want YOU because we are convinced that those goals are as close to you as they are for us. Let’s make sure that by working together we can fully achieve every one of them and make a true valuable impact on the society :)
PROJECT From 21.09.2015 till 30.10.2015 you will be working at potentially
different schools (secondary/high schools, kindergartens). The particular diuties depends on place you will be working at. Generally the most important is to spend a time with proteges in interesting ways. You should take part in additional activities and events included in the project. The schedule will be provided before starting the internship.
Personal Workspace Food - One hot meal Accommodation. You will stay with Polish families or at hostel All facilities needed for the workshops (flipcharts, markers,
screens, projector) Preparation materials for workshops and specific topics.
WHAT IS PROVIDED BY US?
Each trainee is obliged to attend Training to carry out workshops organized by hosting Local Committee. Trainee will gain knowledge on how to conduct workshops at schools and get information about workshops content.
You will take part in Global Village and you should be prepared for this event through bringing traditional clothes, food, brochures, presentation about the country and any other useful materials.

POMERANIA PROVINCE Pomerania (one out of 16 Polish provinces) is the area along the Bay of Pomerania of the
Baltic Sea between the rivers Recknitz in the west and Vistula in the east.
The biggest Pomeranian cities are:
Tricity (including Gdańsk, Gdynia, Sopot: 1 035 000 inhabitants),
Słupsk (95 882 ), Tczew (60 889 ).
Children’s houses, which will take part in the project, are in: Gdańsk and neighborhood
or other cities in Pomerania region.
TRI-CITY GDAŃSK, SOPOT, GDYNIA
GDAŃSK…
…is the Polish maritime capital with the population nearing half a million. It is a large center of economic life, science, culture and a popular tourist destination. Lying on the Bay of Gdańsk and the southern cost of the Baltic Sea, the city is thousand years old. With its Hanseatic tradition, it has played a major role in the commercial relationships between Northern and Western Europe, and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe for ages. Today Gdańsk is the capital of the of the Pomorskie Region and an important administration centre.
SOPOT…
…is a small Polish town situated on the Baltic Sea coast between Gdańsk and Gdynia, a natural centre of the nearly one-million Tri-City agglomeration and the Pomorskie Region. The town achieved the top place in the ranking “Poland’s Best Places to Live”; the top position in the ranking “Stars on the Sand” prepared by the weekly “Polityka” determining the most attractive seaside bathing beaches; the Tourist Certificate of the weekly “Wprost” and many more top positions in various rankings.
GDYNIA…
…is a young, but quickly expanding port situated right by the seashore, offering many tourist attractions as well as splendid shopping opportunities and a lot of entertainment. Because of its unusual location, you will easily catch great views of the sea and beautiful scenery, and also find long promenades, beautiful waterfronts, marinas and yacht clubs. Gdynia is the only city in Poland and one of the few in Europe to pride itself on such long and accessible seashore.
ENTERTAIMENT…
We have the best parties in whole Poland, lots of cinemas (3D, 5D) and theatres. You can spend free time on visiting shopping centers and pubs. You can also try some Polish food, take part in regional events or just simply collect memories by taking tours around. We're going to make this practice an unforgettable experience!
