Natural looking photography for Infants, Juniors, Secondary and Sixth from educational establishments.

Its a schools-specific service that captures the very human side of education.

For example in infants schools a parent will

be more worried that their child can settle

in pleasant surroundings, is nurtured and

encouraged to enjoy learning than being

confronted with educational statistics. In

juniors, the academic side becomes more

relevant but sport and recreation might

also be a sway. By years 7–11 clearly results

are paramount, but also the methods of

teaching, facilities and friendships need to

be considered.

In the case of sixth form, the design should

be relevant to the year 11 student who

will undoubtably have a say in his or her

placement, and in higher education the

student is the complete focus for marketing

materials.

As a school, your product is not simply education, but the happiness and well-being of your pupils. As a parent, you will be wanting the best for your child so you will respond to photography that captures these elements too. Schools need marketing materials that satisfy the needs

of the parents choosing a school for their child.

Weather good

People generally happier

EVEN IN THE SUMMER its not recommended

to shoot on a dull day: its the difference

between every shot looking really nice

or every shot looking ordinary. But in the

winter you simply don’t have a hope.

The important thing to remember is that

in photography every shot is your shop

window, and it needs to show your school at

its best.

This is advertising after all.

It doesn’t mater when you are planning your brochure

or website, summer is the time to take the photos.

Photographic style will affect the outcome

of the project: capturing moments in real

people’s lives tells a more compelling story

than simply posing (although posing

has its place!)

Nic likes to roam about to get his photos

rather than posing . This forms the bulk of

the shoot. But there will always be shots

required which need to be posed. Luckily,

it is possible to apply the principals of

reportage to posing too – a natural face looks

comfortable and so is more believable.

Capturing moments in real people’s lives tells a more compelling story than simply posing: reportage works best for editorial!
