Our school trip to Petralona cave and Anthropological Museum
On 5th of April second grade class of 1st junior high school of Alexandria went a school trip to the Petralona Cave and the Anthropological Museum, which are situated about 50 km SE of Thessaloniki in Chalkidiki.

Our destination
The Petralona cave, was discovered in 1959. It had been accidentally located by Philippos Chatzaridis.It became internationally known when the skull of Archanthropus was found by another villager, Christos Sariannidis.
Petralona Cave is roughly 2 kilometres long. The temperature inside the cave remains constant at about 17 (+1) degrees centigrade all year round
