HELP NEEDED We are extremely excited for this
year’s class auction projects,
which go along with the garden
theme of the auction. Many of
the class projects involve wood
so we are looking for dads/grandparents/
mom’s with experience in wood working or
carpentry to help make this year’s projects a
success. We will be needing help in the cut-
ting of wood to size and final assembly of
these projects. There is some prep work that
can be done at home. In order to work with
students in the classroom you would need to
attend a Safeguarding Gods Children class
and complete a background check. If you are
willing to help with these projects in any way
please email Mrs. Heether at:
rheether@johnpaulacademy.org
THE VIRTUE FOR THIS MONTH
is peacefulness, being calm on the inside,
taking time for daily reflection, and learning
to resolve conflicts. My classroom lessons
are introducing skills that allow the students
to learn to calm their minds and bodies when
they are feeling stressed or angry, as well as
positive ways to work through disagreements
with peers. We also took advantage of
"National Healthy Sleep Awareness Week"
to talk about the importance of sleep and
learn steps students can take to ensure a good
night's rest. (More information about sleep
hygiene and the latest recommendations from
the American Pediatric Association are
posted on my website.) As always, please
feel free to contact me with any questions or
concerns at:
lmartone@johnpaulacademy.org.
