Scenarios
Supported use cases
PS – PS Synchronization The CAD design is performed in V6 and Windchill in parallel with
different responsibilities (e.g. modular separation)
BOM – PS Synchronization The BOM structure is created and maintained in V6 or Windchill,
the CAD Design is performed in the other system
BOM – BOM Synchronisation The BOMs are maintained in V6 and Windchill in parallel with
different responsibilities and tasks (e.g. separation of creation
and approval)
Additional use cases can be realized by individual
customization of the product software

BOM – PS Synchronisation
The master BOM structure is built up and
maintained in Windchill.
The transfer to CATIA V6 is performed, where an
"empty" product structure is generated without
geometry.
Then the CAD design is performed in CATIA V6.
In doing so, the structure will be expanded and
refined in CATIA V6. Standard parts as well as own
constructions are used.
When transferring back to Windchill, the extended
structure and a derived viewing format for the
geometry is generated.
