OPEN NH partners with Plymouth State University

An overview of facilitator benefits and responsibilities

Introduction

OPEN NH is able to offer graduate credit to participants through a unique partnership with Plymouth State University (PSU).

All OPEN NH facilitators have been approved as adjunct faculty with PSU

All facilitators earn $100 per student (maximum $2,400) taking an OPEN NH course for graduate credit.

How can I earn the graduate stipend?

1. Ensure that your human resources paperwork is complete with PSU; stipends cannot be paid without this paperwork on file. W-4

Contact Lisa Baldwin at 535-3211 or (lmbaldwin@plymouth.edu) to obtain the paperwork and get directions for completion

2. Facilitate your OPEN NH course

3. Be sure your participants are aware of the graduate credit option

• Students must register for graduate credit with PSU – the OPEN NH web site has a downloadable registration form

• Tuition is $185 per credit and each OPEN NH course is 3 credits

• Students must complete an additional 3-5 page reflection paper that is submitted to their course facilitator.

How can I earn the graduate stipend?

4. Evaluate the work of your participants based on the requirements of the course you are facilitating; along with the reflection paper

5. Post grades for those wanting graduate credit on myPlymouth, PSU’s portal.

6. Send a printed copy of the completed grade report along with a brief note explaining that you facilitated an OPEN NH course to Lisa Baldwin at PSU to trigger the payroll process.

What’s myPlymouth?

myPlymouth is a portal into the student and faculty systems of PSU

You will need a username and password, these may be obtained by following directions on the welcome page of the portal (my.plymouth.edu) Please note that a username and password will not be assigned until your HR Paperwork has been completed.

my.plymouth.edu

Learning Commons HelpDesk

If you have problems accessing the portal after reviewing the directions and help screen, contact the HelpDesk at helpdesk@plymouth.edu or 603-535-2929.

Once into the system, you will need to access the faculty screens through INB which stands for Internet Native Banner.

Faculty Services may be accessed in two places – under My Services in the left-hand column; or by choosing the Services tab at the top of your screen.

The easiest way is to choose Banner: Faculty

To see a roster or post grades, you will need to choose the term in which your course occurred. GR Fall: Sept. 1–Nov. 30 GR Winter: Dec. 1–Feb. 28 GR Spring: March 1–June 30 GR Summer: July 1-Aug. 31

Choose Final Grades from the Faculty Services Menu

A drop down menu will list the current courses for which you are able to post grades. Choose the correct course, then use the drop down menus next to your students’ names to post their grades.

Please note: the last three digits of the CRN will remain the same. The first two will change as follows: 10… for Fall, 20… for Winter, 30… for Spring, and 40… for Summer.

Student Names will appear here

Choose the drop down box next to the student’s name, click on the appropriate grade. When you are finished grading, click on the submit button. You do not need to post all of the grades at

one time.

Getting paid by PSU

Once you have finished a grading session, simply print your grade sheet, circle the grades you posted that day, and mail this along with a brief note stating that you are an OPEN NH facilitator and you are requesting payment for the new grades posted to the attached sheet to Lisa Baldwin.

Depending upon the payroll cycle ..

You should receive a check within three weeks of grade submission.
