Roadway Projects

• Approximately 90% of NB lanes poured• Pavement at all intersections completed• Signal installations at all intersections in

progress• Working on Retaining Wall north side of

Hickory Slough• Completed environmental Re-Evaluation

Construction phase II – Veterans Dr to Pearland Parkway

• Contractor completed partial work on minor drainage improvements at ponds

• Contractor conducted survey of paving grades for possible grinding of rough spots and submitted report to staff

• Continued working with CenterPoint with work order for streetlights

• John Lizer streetlights installed

Magnolia Road

Construction Phase III – Morgan to Harkey and CR 89

• Enterprise Pipeline preparing billing information for submittal

• Placed concrete for left turn lane and installed traffic signal at Morgan/Southfork intersection

• Continued communication with the contractor regarding trench settlement locations

• Completed paving for Cullen southbound lanes• Cullen to be opened November 8th or 9th

Phase I - Beamer to FM518

• TxDOT refund check for $869,525.67 has been received

Dixie Farm Road

Phase II – Mary’s Creek Bypass to SH35

• Continued excavation activities and lime stabilization in future southbound main lane area

• Paving SB lanes underway• Steel in place for most of the remaining

areas to be paved• All intersection paving completed

Detention – East Mary’s Creek• Granted Substantial Completion certificate

on September 27th

• Contractor completed punch list items and corrected fence and pond grades

• Working on project cleanup and closeout• Approx. $200K+ below contract amount• Approx. $1.5M under original budget

Dixie Farm Road

• Jack and Bore final run began October 25th

and is expected to be complete in approximately 15 days

• Aluminum Box Culvert installation is complete; tie-ins and backfill are underway

• Mykawa Orange intersection will open after Thanksgiving.

Town Ditch Phase III

• TxDOT has verbally agreed to adjust their design to match the Orange Street design

• Engineer is met with Construction Manager on site to verify utility relocation

• Held Pre-bid conference on October 17th; eight contractors attended

• Bid opening scheduled for November 9th

Orange Street

• One parcel remains but we have a ROE• Finalized utility relocations• Negotiating Construction Management

services• Provided plans and specs to the CM for

constructability review• Pre-bid held on November 3rd• Bid opening scheduled for November 18th

Walnut Reconstruction

• 100% plans currently under review• Engineer began revising plans to incorporate

drainage changes• Held kickoff meeting for Noise Impact

Analysis contract and issued NTP• ROW acquisition underway – 55 of 65

parcels acquired

Bailey Road (Veterans to FM1128)

• Final clean-up in progress• Roadway will open when signal/intersection at

Cullen is complete• Continued work with CenterPoint to install

streetlights along the new roadway

Drainage Projects

Detention Pond• Pond A approximately 96% excavated• Hauling activities and fill placement at

second fill site continued• Began excavation of Pond B as well

Cowart Creek Diversion

Diversion Ditch• East – West corridor acquisition complete• Conoco Phillips issued NTP• Began diversion ditch south of the pond• JKC and ESPA submitted design plans for

N/S ditches; meeting scheduled with Brazoria County to discuss criteria

Cowart Creek Diversion

• Contractor completing punch list items• Harris completed work at the Bailey pond to

fill in washed out area under pilot channel at outfall to Cowart’s Creek, low spots were also filled in

• BDD4 submitted invoice for final payment

Facility Projects

Old PD Renovations

• Off-site storage relocation to the old jail area complete

• Remainder of renovation on hold

• Held Pre-Bid meeting on Oct. 21st

• Plans in for permitting• Submitted plan package for LEED Certification• Bids opened November 2nd

• Approximately 30% below estimates• Apparent low bid approx. $3.2M

Hillhouse Road Service Center

• TDLR inspection conducted and report submitted, with minor corrections

• Working to complete final change order

Recreation and Natatorium Center

• Facility Access Control and Security system is in testing mode

• Completed HVAC system changes in the mode of operation capabilities

• Waiting on parts to replace air control damper in Jail air handler

• Completed electrical and HVAC system and equipment audit on facility with Program Manager

• Working towards building commissioning

Public Safety Building

• Steel erection and interior framing are complete • The brick is approximately 50% complete• Alerting system for the facility will be bid

separately from the construction contract• Dewatering and Sanitary sewer tie-in and bore

dewatering will be completed early in November

Fire Station #5

• FDC received bids• $997,000• Building permit issued• Contractor started site preparation• Requested submittals from architect

Fire Station #6

• Renovations to office areas complete, punchlist items being corrected

• New furniture items installed• Warranty items sent to contractors attention

Animal Control Expansion

• Awaiting plan of action from Parks Department

Trail Connectivity

• Council approved design contract with Jacobs• Kick off meeting scheduled for early November

Sports Complex at Max Road

30” Waterline Interconnect

• Installation of waterline under Beltway 8 complete• 3,752 feet of waterline has been installed• Casing for waterline has been installed under U of H

driveway• Began installation of casing at Kinder Morgan

Pipeline crossing, and installation of waterline at CenterPoint crossing

• CoH 72” line scheduled for completion in March 2011

• Select fill for the Ground Storage Tank has been completed

• Temporary road for Ground Storage Tank construction has been completed

• Majority of underground electrical duct banks have been installed

• Began installation of vertical turbine cans at pump building

• Contractor has worked on the east and west slopes of the basin

• Contractor has finished grading the back wash basin area

• Change Order processed to address slope failure on the west bank

Surface Water Reservoir

Knapp Road LS & SH35 Utilities

• PEDC Funded• 100% plans completed. • Easement donations pursued by PEDC• Project on hold; awaiting direction from PEDC

Hooper Road Utilities

• PER submitted for approval• Negotiating design contract with Malcom Pirnie;

submit for Council approval in November

Longwood WWTP Rehabilitation

• Staff met with BBI to discuss comments on the draft Preliminary Engineering Report

• Revising PER to address City comments

Barry Rose WWTP Rehabilitation

• Held substantial walk through inspections of Knapp Road lift station and Blockbuster grinder pump station

• Punch list items noted• All facilities have been placed in operation• Project completed approximately $200K under

contract amount
