52 - 125Newer N-Substituted Anthranilic Acid Derivatives as Potent An-tiinflammatory Agents. — The characteristic features of the route tosubstituted anthranilic acid derivatives (XIII) consist of substitution at 2-position of bromoanthranilic acid (II) with the oxadiazolyl ring structure, (VII),conversion into benzylidene derivatives (XI), and cyclization into pyrazolines(XIII). Similarly, the thiadiazolyl derivatives are prepared by substitution at2-position of anthranilic acid (I). Compounds possessing an oxadiazolyl moietygenerally show better antiinflammatory property than compounds having athiadiazolyl ring.
