Phonics Lessons -

Mrs Perkins’ Group and Mrs Kendall/Mrs Armstrong’s Group

We have included activities that the children are familiar with.

Each page has animations on it .

When you see this it is time for your child to do an activity before you move the power point on.

When you see this the next click will take you to a new page.

If you have any problems please don’t hesitate to contact me:jperkins@bricknell.hull.sch.uk

Please note:

Your child will use their phonic knowledge to spell words, which although might not be spelt correctly, are still phonetically correct for their age.

For example – instead of sea, they may write see.instead of water, they may write worter.instead of ice cream, they may write ighscreem.

To reach the Early Learning Goals the children are expected to use their own phonic knowledge to write words that match their spoken sounds.

Some of the words they write will be spelt correctly, others will be phonetically plausible, i.e. when you read it back it sounds correct.

Encourage your child to read back what they have written. Talk to your child about the correct spelling for some words, for example sea, to help build up their vocabulary, but don’t worry if they don’t remember.
