• S.O.I.L. Yourself is an organization aimed to revitalize Tunisian agriculture through urban farming. We are gathering community members to work towards creating new methods to develop necessary nutrients for a healthy Tunisian Community. We firmly believe that every community around the world deserves a chance at an affordable healthy/organic lifestyle.

Business Etiquette

Dos• Make an appointment• Be on time – it reflects your

attitude to work and reliability• Meet your deadlines• Establish personal relationships

with co-workers• Exchange business cards and

only accept with the right hand or both hands

• Dress formally and women dress modestly

Don’ts• Argue or have a confrontation

in public, it is highly offensive• Be upset by privileges and

favoritism – it is common• Schedule business meetings

during the holy month of Ramadan

• Be surprised if an agreement made within a meeting is not fulfilled afterwards

Gestures & Body Language

• Dress code is important for women- women usually have their arms covered to wrists and shirts go up to neck

• Avoid taking photographs near political or military sites

• Point your foot at something or show an extended middle finger

• Bring a gift if you are invited to somebody’s house and take off your shoes

• Refer to people as “Monsieur” or “Madame” with their last name

Travel Advisories• General threat from terrorism• Don’t ever travel to the

southern border areas without a local guide

• The further south the more conservative

• Certain desert areas bordering Algeria and southern military zones cannot be entered into unless you have permission from Tunisian authorities
