How it works: High Quality Printing
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
• MAPS 1 & 2 (Mimaki Advanced Pass System) • With MAPS1, the printing speed can be adjusted,
but depending on the image to be printed, there may be color changes
• With MAPS2, both feeding stripes and color changes can be reduced, but speed cannot be adjusted
• MAPS 2 eliminates banding by dispersing ink drops between the passes
• This technology is improving the print quality, when printing in high productivity modes and the uneven print density at solid color part is reduced
• The Variable dot
• The variable dot, printing in 3 different dot sizes of small, medium and large
• Realizes a high image quality printing with the smooth gradation
• Small characters sharp without granular appearance

How it works: Print on thick / heavy media
Print on substrates up to 50mm thickThe maximum loadable weight of substrate is up to 50kg / m2
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
Print on the thick and heavy media
12
• Printing on the substrate of up to 2 inches (50mm) thick • The maximum loadable weight of substrate is up to 110lb (50kg/m²)
• About the head gap • The gap between the head and the substrate should be less than 2mm • If the gap is set wider than 2mm, the ink drop tends to become mist before it reaches onto the substrate • Furthermore, if the gap is to wide, the reflected light from the UV curing lamp increases. This leads to a cause of an
error of the ink droplet onto the substrate or the nozzle clogging, because the reflected light may increase the viscosity of the ink mist

How it works: Layout Pins
Two rows of offset holes are placed 200mm apartPosition the substrate against the layout pins to set the originA scale allows media to be set accuratelyThe pins can only be used with substrates that are at least 4mm thick .
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
Layout Pins • Two rows with holes are placed 8 inches (200mm) apart in stagger
configuration • Placing the substrate at the origin is to set the layout pins, and position the
substrate against the layout pins. • The scale allows for the accurate setting of the media. • When using layout pins, please use a substrate with thickness of minimum
4mm or more than the height of the pin (3mm)
14
Ten pieces are supplied with the machine
How it works: Reliable printing
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
Reliable printing
• Automatic measurement of media thickness • No need to measure the thickness by hand
and reducing operator interactions • The gap pin on the left side of the carriage
automatically measures the thickness of media • When needed, the head gap can also be set
manually by steps of 0.1mm.
• Media Jam Censor • Preventing media from hitting the print heads • When the media height is set incorrectly or
the media is deformed, the media hits the sensor and the carriage stops to protect print head
15
How it works: Reliable printing - nozzle recovery
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
• The nozzle recovery system • When nozzle clogging occurred and it’s not recoverable, the other working nozzles can be used instead • Up to 10 nozzles can be registered per 1 nozzle line • Even if you use this function, the time required for printing does not change • For the lowest number of paths of the printing mode, the NOZZLE RECOVERY function is invalid

How it works: MBIS-IIIUSER FRIENDLY DESIGN
Easy replacement of inks is accomplished by placing MBIS-III at the front of the machineThe light indicates when the ink has run outUISS works when the four colour inkset is used
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
New ink supply unit: MBIS-III
• User friendly design • The easy ink replacement is accomplished by placing MBIS-III
at the front of the machine • The lights indicates, when the ink has run out for smooth
replacement • UISS (Uninterrupted Ink Supply System) works when the 4C ink
set is used
17
How it works: MBIS-IIIUSER FRIENDLY DESIGN
It is now easier to replace the bottles by simply removing the old bottle and inserting the new (1 litre) bottle in its place.
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
New ink supply unit: MBIS-III
• Makes it easy to replace the ink bottle by just taking off the bottle and insert a new ink bottle (1L) directly to the unit

How it works: MCT, white ink circulation systemUSER FRIENDLY DESIGN
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
MCT, White ink circulation system
• Preventing the settlement of pigments of the white ink in the line. This by circulating the ink. Creating an stable ink supply system.
• This reduces the amount of waste ink which leads to the reduction of the ink cost.
• MCT does not work when a 4 color ink set is installed

Feature ・Flexible enough to fold ・The ink is hard to crack ・The media is hard to deform after printing ・Good media compatibility
・The ink film is hard ・Hard to get scratched ・High solvent resistance ・Less tackiness
Application ・Signage, decoration on soft material and material which requires post process
・Inddorpanel, decoration on small goods, and name plate

The strength of LUS-150 ・The ink is hard to be cracked because LUS-150 is flexible Flexibility:About 150%) ・Adhesiveness is better than LH-100 The weakness of LUS-150 ・The scratch and solvent resistance is inferior to LH-100
The strength of LH-100 ・Fine scratch and solvent resistance Flexibility:About100% (LH-100 does not strech) ・Less tackiness, does not set off The weakness of LH-100 ・The ink film tends to be cracked by folding or cutting

How it works: LED UV Curing unitENVIRONMENTALLY CONSCIOUS SOLUTION
Mimaki Europe B.V. Industrial Products
Environmentally conscious LED-UV curing unit
• Little VOC (Volatile organic compound), no ozone production • Little VOC and less odor, no special ventilation systems are required
• Energy-efficient and cost reduction
• Generates less heat and turns on only when needed • Reduction of the total cost by less energy consumption
• The reduction of the heat impact
• The material reaches an temperature of 70⁰C, when using metal halide lamps, causing media deformation • LED-UV enables to print on cheaper media • No need for special ventilation and installation costs
• The improvement of production circumstances
• The long-life LED UV lamp (approx. 5000 hours), which needs less maintenance, permits the increase in productivity. *The life-time of the metal halide lamp is about 700 hours
• The LED UV lamps turn on and off instantly • LED UV lamps are ready to be used immediately, directly after the printer is turned on • An metal halide lamp requires warm up and cool down time
7
How it works: Eco-friendly POWER AND CO2 EMISSIONS
Image shows power consumption when printing 20x 8’ x 4’ boards. Figures may differ depending on machine - tests conducted with Mimaki conventional lamp printer.
Reduction of heat impact A metal halid lamp can reach over 70° - potentially causing deformation of the media LED lamps product less heat
Lamp life is significantly longer with typically 5,000hours plus
Mimaki Europe B V Industrial Products
• The reduction of power consumption and CO2 emission
• Reduction of heat impact
• A metal halide lamp reaches 70˚C or more, can cause deformation of the media • The LED UV lamp generates less heat and opens up the possibility to print cheaper
and heat sensitive media
• Improvement of the production environment • Less maintenance with a long-life LED UV lamp (more than 5,000 hours)
Note: The lifetime of a general metal halide lamp is about 700 - 1,000 hours

About installation space
• Do not install on a weak surface floor• Make sure to use in a ventilated environment• Environmental temperature should be
between 15° and 30° C• Do not install on carpets etc as these become
easily charged with static electricity• In order to prevent floor deformation, use
bases for the feet.
