Becoming Catholic
Those interested in learning about Jesus
and the Catholic faith, or becoming a
Catholic Christian themselves, are
encouraged to contact Jarrett Wendt:

highly personalized and can begin as
early as tomorrow! Adult Catholics
seeking Confirmation are welcome as
well.
Parishioners: Do you know anybody
who is thinking about becoming
Catholic? Please pray for them, walk
with them on their journey, and
encourage them to contact us when
ready! A great info resource is
www.formed.org, code: a12562
The Sacrament
of Marriage
The Sacrament of Marriage can be
celebrated at a time convenient to
the couple and in accordance with
the parish schedule. The date and
time of the celebration must be
scheduled only with a priest or
deacon of the parish. The couple
must contact a priest or deacon of
the parish preferably one year prior
to the desired wedding date, but no
less than six months prior to their
desired date. The St. Cecilia Wedding
Guidelines 2021, is available from
the Parish Office and on our website.
This contains additional information
and guidelines.
Baptism
All parents seeking baptism for their
child are expected to attend a
preparation session. Parents are
recommended to attend a session
prior to the birth of their child.
Contact Jarrett Wendt for Baptism

neighborhood west of the church where Fr. Czapla lives and
back to the church.
All children who made their First Holy Communion this year are
invited to have a special part in the procession, but need to
RSVP. If interested, please contact Maria Schneider
(mariaschndr@yahoo.com).

Jesus said to them, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent
me, so I send you.” John 20:21.
Just as Jesus chose his apostles to carry on his work with the
help of the Holy Spirit, so we have been chosen to continue
God’s work through the love and help we give to those in
need. The Ames Catholic Community Stephen Ministry team
would like to remind you that we have trained Stephen
Ministers available to provide one-to-one, confidential,
compassionate care to those experiencing life’s difficulties
such as struggling with grief, stress and anxiety, loneliness,
health problems, and many other situations.
If you or someone you know would benefit from this ministry
or would like additional information, call Anne Schmitt
(515-291-8257).
2020/2021 Fund-A-Need:
Security System Upgrade for School and Church
In 2019, members of the Saint Cecilia Catholic School Board
and Faith Formation Commission voted to upgrade the
security features for the building. The security system cost
over $80,000 and was installed in the summer of 2019. The
Gala Committee kindly requests your financial support to this
year's Fund-a-Need to help defray the cost of this essential
upgrade to the school and church. Please visit our website
www.stcamesgala.org to learn more about this project.
Saint Cecilia Students and Administrators describe the value
of the security system in this fun video: https://youtu.be/

May 30, 2021— The Most Holy Trinity
A prayer for everyone: For those who are particularly vulnerable, we pray for safety
and protection.
For all those who experience fear or anxiety, we pray for
peace of mind and spirit.
For our brothers and sisters around the world, we pray for
shared solidarity.
For Government, Diocese and School officials and decision
makers, we pray for wisdom and guidance.
Father, during this time may your Church be a sign of hope,
comfort and love to all.
Grant peace. Grant comfort. Grant healing. Be with us, Lord.
Amen

Hospitalized Catholics—Hospital visits are
resuming. If you are hospitalized and wish to
be visited as a patient at Mary Greeley Medical
Center in Ames, you can make sure you are
entered on the list of Catholics to be visited
daily, by calling the switchboard operator at
239-2011 or asking your nurse to help you call. St. Cecilia and
St. Thomas share hospital visits and therefore visits are made
every day. If have any questions, please call Julie Haas at
232-7138, Janine Greenwood at (515)520-7725 or
jcrgreenwood@gmail.com. You may also contact the Parish
Office at 233-3092.
Marriage Corner
“Go therefore, and make disciples of all nations,
baptizing in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the
Holy Spirit.” (Mt 28:19) We are called to lead others to Christ.
Reflect on how you and your family are living out this call. Be
witnesses to the love of Christ.
Today’s second reading reminds us that we
are the adopted sons and daughters - heirs
- of God. We are good stewards of our in-
heritance when we share our faith and ful-
fill Our Lord’s command to “go . . .and
make disciples of all the nations.”
Reminder: On June 9, Wednesday Mass
schedule moves from 9am to 6:30pm.
The June edition of The Word Among Us
is now available. Booklets are available by the
bulletin board outside the parish office.
