For instance, our kicking technique is most similar to Tae Kwon Do which does an excellent job of developing precision and control while preventing injury. Meanwhile, for preparing against being grabbed we will use self defense more similar to a Japanese Jujitsu or a Kempo system.

In truth, we do mix martial arts together to create our curriculum here. However, the term Mixed Martial Arts or MMA has taken on a fairly different meaning in our culture thanks to the rise of fighting organizations like the UFC.
MMA has taken on the connotation of full contact cage fighting, which is not part of our system.
