The surveys found a considerable amount of upgrade activity among OAUG and Quest members. For OAUG, more than a third of the respon-dents say their organi-zations have already moved or are in the process of moving to the latest release of Oracle E-Business Suite. Although upgrading to a new version of an ERP system can be viewed as a daunting task, a vast majority of enterprise application managers say upgrade projects are often short in duration, fall within budget estimates, and rarely disrupt business operations. Those are some of the conclusions in “ERP Upgrades: What’s Your Philosophy?” a new survey of mem-bers of the Oracle Ap-plications Users Group (OAUG), and “ERP Upgrades: New Func-tionality, New Opportu-nities” a new survey of members of the Quest International Users Group. These surveys, which explored up-

Among respondents who provided informa-tion about ERP up-grades, 12 percent from OAUG and 8 per-cent for Quest said the projects were transfor-mational in nature, meaning that the or-ganizations used the upgrade opportunity to change the way they work and how their business processes are handled. When asked what the

Our staff Steve Yu from YGL Convergence HK visited KL and Penang recently to demonstrate
Datapolis Workbox to our customers. Datapolis Workbox is a user-friendly, GUI-driven tool for
modelling and managing workflows in the SharePoint 2010 environment. Its unique architecture
enables dynamic process management and adaptation to the changes in the environment and client
requirements. Its features include, but are not limited to, designing document flows, implementing
the ordering process, project and work time accounting, as well as designing help-desk systems.
Datapolis Workbox utilises two logical layers: a business and a technical layer. The former illus-
trates the process and its stages, while the latter establishes a space that enables process automa-
tion. Both layers form a single, shared tool for managers, analysts, designers, IT technicians, and
process participants. Separating the business logic allows focusing on the goals and stages of a
process, reflecting the human way of making decisions.
