• Born on February 24, 1955, in

SanFrancisco.

• Dropped out of college after 6

months.

• Spent 18 months at creative

classes.

• In 1974 started working with

Atari as video game designer.

• Came to India for spiritual

enlightment.

• He found his talent in the field of

computers & decide to work in it.

After returning to US he joined

hand with his friend Wozniak &

planned to start ‘APPLE’.

• He sold his mini Volkswagen bus

to his contribution to the

investment for the start-up.

• First Sale

– The first sale in the market was of a basic apple computer . Contract

was of 50 units and apple received US $500.

– The first piece was itself a masterpiece , Apple loaded the bootstrap on

the RAM.

• It was the time for celebration for ‘APPLE’ as

they launched their first personal computer

which is to be sold without any programming

language.

• Main reason behind the downfall of apple was the absence of

steve Jobs.

• Shares of Apple Inc. went down & the board changed the CEO &

bought Gil Amelio, the CEO of National Semiconductor, to run

the company, in 1996.

• In 1985, a power struggle

developed between Jobs and

CEO John Sculley.

• Steve Jobs wanted to capture the

consumer market but CEO focused

on the profit margins.

• Seeing the situations getting

Efforts made to make a Comeback

• Apple partnered with long-time competitor IBM

and Motorola to form the AIM alliance.

• In 1994 Apple launched eWorld, an online service

providing email, news and a bulletin board system

to replace AppleLink. It was shut down in 1996.

• Licensing the Mac OS and Macintosh ROMs to

3rd party manufacturers.

Comeback Phase

• Finally Apple thought of bringing Steve Jobs back to

the company & this time he came back as the CEO.

And Apple also purchased his company ‘NeXT Inc’

which had one of the best softwares.

Microsoft deal

• At the 1997 Macworld Expo, Steve Jobs announced that

Apple would be entering into a partnership with Microsoft.

Included in this was a five-year commitment from

Microsoft to release Microsoft Office for Macintosh as well

as a US$150 million investment in Apple.

• This proved to be the most beneficial deal in the life of

Apple.

Success With Mobile Devices

• Music on iTunes Store- made it possible to play music on

itunes as a 3rd party players.

• App Store- In 2008,lauched it to sell or download 3rd party

apps for iPhone & iPod.

Some Major Decisions.

• On December 16, 2008, Apple announced that

2009 would be the last year the corporation

would attend the Macworld Expo.

• On January 14, 2009, Jobs announced that he

would be taking a 6 months medical leave of

absence from Apple until the end of June 2009

and would spend the time focusing on his health.

• Apple announced a large screen, tablet-like media

device known as the iPad on January 27, 2010.

Just a bigger iPhone.

• June 2011, Jobs surprisingly took the stage and unveiled iCloud

& announced that this is his last product launch before death.

• On August 24, 2011, Jobs resigned his position as CEO of Apple

& was replaced by Cook and Jobs became Apple's chairman.

• On October 5, 2011, Apple announced that Jobs had died,

marking the end of an era for Apple.
