This scene is part of the fresco cycle in the Arena Chapel, commissioned by Enrico Scrovegni. The Arena Chapel, also known as the Scrovegni Chapel, is in Padua, Italy.

This is a panel from the Gates of Paradise (the east doors) of the Baptistery, in Florence, Italy. Commissioned by the wool merchants’ guild of Florence.

Originally painted in oil on wood. This was commissioned by Paolo Giovio for the Church of the Olivetani in Nocera dei Pagani, Southern Italy.

There is no evidence of a commission for this work, and it has been suggested that this is an early personal work.
