With the LCHIP grant and some private dona ons, we are 1/2 way towards our goal of $52,000 to cover the transac on and stewardship fees to conserve this special place, forever. Landowners Victor Piekarski and Gloria Switalski are generously dona ng 115 acres of
their land to conserva on. In so doing, they will con nue to live on this property but
they will give up the rights to develop it. As Victor Piekarski said at the LCHIP Grant
Awards Ceremony, “We love this land and we want to share it with others!” The owners
demonstrate their connec on to this land through careful management of the forest,
soils, aqua c resources, and documenta on of observed wildlife, as well as their care of
the border stones, orchards, stonewalls, and other historical treasures.
This generous dona on of the easement is simply the logical next step.
