History
Academy is shifted from Delhi to Mussoorie in 1959.The Previous Building was Metcalf House while new
one was Charlie Villae Hotel.
Site
It is situated at the altitude of six thousand on a serpentine route and very close to
Mall Road. These are the two aspects of Academy also.
Nomenclature
This word “Academy” is adopted from Plato’s institution, inspired by his Platonic
world
Entrance
Academy starts with a Weeping Willow * tree at its entrance. In Hindi it is called
MAJNU. * Botanically Weeping Willow * is a monosexual tree, a rare
species
At Peak
At the gate of Academy ,there is the highest peak of its hillock . It is called Katesar,

Vertical Cross SectionFrom top to bottom
Its Topmost construction is Sampurna-Anand & lowest is in Happy Valley. Names decided to pacify the inauspicious things of its horizontal division
Products
Academy has a good practice of selecting goods for their processing
center, picked afresh from its Manufacturing House.
Officer’s Office
Generally we all call Shila (means Stone) rather than Villa to our workplaces like
DhruvShila & KarmaShila. This is our matter of heart
Hostels
Academy has three hostels, earlier meant for separate accommodations-
Kaveri for Lady OTs ,Ganga for Gentleman OTs and
There is a Nar-Mada also
OT Lounge
OT lounge is thought to be a Recreation Room,
For those who has no thought other than creation.
Only place of the world, where lockers are unlocked
Ganga Dhaba
Sometimes OTs also need good food. It is the best example of Informal Public
Private Partnership
Trek
We hold four types of trek--- Doditaal type for Foundation
Course, Benauge type for Phase-I, Mall Road type for Phase-II and Hostel to Mess type for Phase-III
Village visit
We feel OTs must have some exposure of villages,
run by themselves and not ruined by ourselves
