I-’0REWORD
This lndian Standard was adopted by the Bureau of Indian Standards, after the draft finalized by the SpinningPreparatory, Spinning and Doubling (Twisting) Machinery Sectional Committee had been approved by the TextileDivision Council.
The need to formulate standard on this subject has been felt in order to provide guidance to the manufacturers ofthread guides for man-made fibre processing machines so that the thread guides of acceptable quality are availableto the man-made fibre industry. This would ensure higher productivity due to better interchangeability of thread~llides in the man-made fibre processing machines and its smooth functioning.
This standard will help in eliminating ambiguity arising from local classification of man-made fibre processingmachiner~.
‘1’hccomposition of the Committee responsible for the formulation of this standard is give}, in Annex A
For (he purpose of deciding whether a particular requirement of this standard is complied with the final value, observed or calculated, expressing the result of a test or analysis, shall be rounded off in accordance with1S 2:1960 ‘Rules for rounding off numerical values (revised)’. The number of significant places retained in therounded off value shall be the same as that of the specified value in this standard.
