IRHA Year Book 2009-2010!

Transcript of IRHA Year Book 2009-2010

irha yearbook 2009- 2010 = =========volume 1 =

Dear IRHA,IRHA’s goal is to mold students into student leaders to form a foundation for them to build on for the rest of their lives. Call it a network, call it a tribe, call it IRHA, call it a family. Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one. As the year comes to an end, let us remember the inspiring moments that have kept this family together. The IRHA family is filled with drive, determination and unconditional love for one another. This year has shown struggles and growth on a personal and professional level. There is no other organization that really knows how to mix business with pleasure. The leaders that form this organization consist of future lawyers, counselors, doctors, engineers...which all have the same theme of wanting to change the world for the better. Leave this year with the skills that we have taught you and leave this year with the love that we have shown you. Know that you will always have a place to return, as long as IRHA is still around.

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.

You’re on your own, and you know what you know. And you are the one who’ll decide where you’ll go.

Oh the places you’ll go”. –Dr. Seuss

Sincerely,

Patricia M.JordanIRHA President 2009-2010

This year, I have seen IRHA fall and rise, struggle and succeed, and I am happy to have been a part of it all. My year as Vice President taught me so much more about how to be a leader and Residence Hall Week was probably the de-fining moment of it all. We had one of the most success-ful RHWs in recent history and I am proud to have led such an amzing staff to new heights. I fulfilled most of my goals with the event and I can’t wait to see where it goes next.-Sean

I feel honored to have been able to serve as the Audi-tor for IRHA this past year. It has given me the oppor-tunities to grow not only as a leader but also as a per-son. I have met some of the greatest people I have ever known through IRHA and I understand its importance in the UF community. I feel confident that the legacy of IRHA is strong and feel honored to have contributed to that legacy.-Josh

“This year has certainly had it’s ups and downs, from ice machines to sound systems, there was always something new to discuss. My favorite time was definitely the summer; even while stuffing 7700 welcome bags in the lobby of Rawlings Hall, I had anticipation for the year ahead. Although I am sad to see my term come to an end, I know I am leaving the organization in very capable hands. It has been a pleasure to see the young members of IRHA develop into the leaders they are today, and I am excited to see where they will take IRHA in the years to come.”-Alex

The experiences that I have had this past year are ones that I will never forget and each of them have helped me grow into a better person. When I first got the position of IRHA Secretary, all I can remember is Patricia saying that this position on the executive board was going to “change me”. Well it did, for the better, and has helped make me realize who I am as a person and what the goals in my life are. It has also provided me with some everlasting friendships and even some “soul friends”. I can honestly say that every member of the IRHA body, especially the executive board, has been like my family throughout this year and has helped me surpass any obstacles that I have encountered. I will always know that no matter what there will be people out there who care about me, and I have IRHA to thank for just about every great experience that I have had throughout my time at UF.-Kalyn

Irha this year has given me so many incredible mem-ories. I value all the friendships and opportunities it has given me. This year has taught me a lot about the type of leader I strive to be. I cannot wait for next year and all the new experiences it will bring.-Sakina

My favorite part about working with IRHA is having the opportunity to interact with so many amazing students. It is through these experiences that I am able to see students grow and learn as leaders. I have appreciated getting to know you throughout this year. For those that are graduating or moving on, good luck with all of your future endeavors, for those leaders continuing with IRHA, I look forward to working with you next year!-Christine

R-O-C-K, you rock, you rock! Thank you IRHA for a wonderful year! You are all amazing leaders for your creativity, persistence and boundless energy. A special thank you goes out to IRHA exec for helping me with my adventure as IRHA Grad Adviser. My year as IRHA’s Graduate Adviser has been a wonderful experience, getting to know IRHA Exec and AG officers. IRHA meetings have been educational, as it was my first experience with parli pro. I’ve enjoyed attending programs, especially where you all get to showcase your hidden talents. I’ve also enjoyed attending conferences with the very outgoing and engaging delegates. Thank you for the memories this year. I will enjoy reminiscing about competing in a photo scavenger hunt during Fall training, throw-ing balloons at Water Balloon Fight and seeing Exec with multi-col-ored hair. I wish all of you the best of luck in your very bright futures! -Andrea
