WIRELESS HEADPHONES USING
INFRARED RAYSSubmitted by:• VAMSI CHANDRA-ES12B1012• GOKUL ARVIND-ME12B1017• R.SHASHANK-EE12B1026
Principle
• This wireless communication system transmits sound or music signals through I.R Rays.
• The intensity changes with the amplitude of the sound signal.
• The variation in the intensity of I.R rays is converted into a variation in the voltage level by using a solar panel.
• The voltage variation on the solar panel is amplified by a low-voltage audio power amplifier and reproduced by a speaker.
Requirements:
• Capacitors
• Integrated Circuits
• Potmeter
• Resistors
• IR receiver and transmitter
WORKING OF THE MODEL
TTHE MODEL CONSISTS OF TWO CIRCUITS
TRANSMITTER CIRCUIT
RECEIVER CIRCUIT
Both the transmitter and receiver circuit are built around IC LM386,powered by a 9V battery.
TRANSMITTER CIRCUIT
RECEIVER CIRCUIT
Applications:
• This system can be used in industrial applications. • This system can be very useful in portable musical appliances.• An alternative for this system is the use of Bluetooth, since it can be used
to increase the range of transmission. • Due to transmission of data wirelessly ,it can enormously decrease the
amount of connections using wires.
Advantages:
• Simple in construction.• Easy to maintain and repair. • Comparatively the operation cost is less.• Efficient and low cost design. • Low power consumption. • Alternative for Bluetooth.
Disadvantages:
• There might be disturbance in the output during transmission via I.R due to external factors.
