Betty was born December 19, 1929, the second ofseven children to Alberta (Stevenson) and LouisHormann Sr. Betty grew up on the family farm in ruralWheaton, attended and was confirmed at St. JohnLutheran Church. She graduated from Wheaton HighSchool in 1947. She joined the Gustavus AdolphusChurch (later named Good Shepherd Lutheran Church)upon her marriage to Alton LeRoy Lundquist onNovember 7, 1948. Betty and Alton were activemembers of Good Shepherd, serving in many rolesthroughout the years. Most recently, she enjoyed being.a part of the "Quilters".

Together Betty and Alton raised four children andmade their home on Elm Avenue in Wheaton. Theyenjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. Some of theirtrips took them to the Caribbean, Spain, Thailand,Bangkok, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico and many ofthe continental United States, as well as Hawaii.

After her children were in school, Betty and Altonwere co-owners ofthe Dairy Way. Once they sold theirportion she worked in the Wheaton Department Store,as the Traverse County Treasurer, as a teller at the FirstState Bank of Wheaton, and as the Deputy CountyAuditor, and after "retirement" she worked part-time asa receptionist at the clinic.Betty loved gardening and always had beautiful flowersthroughout the summer. She was a talented seamstressand made quilts for each of her children, grandchildren

and many of her great-grandchildren. Most ofall Betty enjoyed time with her friends andfamily.
