Betty was born December 19, 1929, the second of seven children to Alberta (Stevenson) and Louis Hormann Sr. Betty grew up on the family farm in rural Wheaton, attended and was confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church. She graduated from Wheaton High School in 1947. She joined the Gustavus Adolphus Church (later named Good Shepherd Lutheran Church) upon her marriage to Alton LeRoy Lundquist on November 7, 1948. Betty and Alton were active members of Good Shepherd, serving in many roles throughout the years. Most recently, she enjoyed being . a part of the "Quilters". Together Betty and Alton raised four children and made their home on Elm Avenue in Wheaton. They enjoyed bowling, golfing and traveling. Some of their trips took them to the Caribbean, Spain, Thailand, Bangkok, Switzerland, Canada, Mexico and many of the continental United States, as well as Hawaii. After her children were in school, Betty and Alton were co-owners ofthe Dairy Way. Once they sold their portion she worked in the Wheaton Department Store, as the Traverse County Treasurer, as a teller at the First State Bank of Wheaton, and as the Deputy County Auditor, and after "retirement" she worked part-time as a receptionist at the clinic. Betty loved gardening and always had beautiful flowers throughout the summer. She was a talented seamstress and made quilts for each of her children, grandchildren and many of her great-grandchildren. Most of all Betty enjoyed time with her friends and family. ~f'teclWrw r:::'F LIFE ©Bass-Mollett Publishers Printed in U.S.A.
