IECRM 2016Licensure Change

This law will replace the current continued competency program with a requirement of 24 hours of continuing education to be completed each renewal period. To renew your license in 2017, you must first complete any Professional Development Units (PDU) assigned to you after you completed the CC Assessment in 2014. However, you will not complete a new Continuing Competency Assessment. Instead, you will be required to complete 24 hours of continuing education before the following renewal period in September 2020.

Important: You must have your PDU requirements completed before you can renew your electrician license in September 2017.

The Electrical Board will soon be drafting rules on continuing education requirements. Stay tuned to IECRM for details.
