India Against Corruption (IAC)

India Against Corruption (IAC)• What is IAC?– It’s a movement to make a strong anti corruption law

and to establish an independent anti-corruption agency in center and states.

• Why IAC?– Because the existing anti-corruption agencies are

either advisory or under the control of government.• Who is Leading IAC?– Many Prominent people from various walks of life,

like Kiran Bedi, Arvind Kejriwal, Baba Ramdev, Sri Sir Ravi Sankar, Anna Hazare and many many more..

India Against Corruption contd..• Where is IAC happening?– It’s happening in every city in India and many

countries outside India. • What is the next major milestone?– The next major event is on 5th April, when Anna

Hazare ji is doing indefinite fast at Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

• How can we help IAC?– IAC doesn’t need you to go to Jail or face bullets. It

needs few hours of your time to understand the root cause of the movement and to explain others about it. Join the movement actively and spread the word – awareness and education is the need of the hour.

Existing Anti Corruption Agencies and loopholes

• CVC– It’s an advisory body.

• Departmental Vigilance– Officers of vigilance wing of a department are

from the same department.

• CBI– It has power but is under govt control. Govt tells

CBI which case to investigate.

There are enough evidences of corruption in CWG. Why there is no significant progress in the investigation after 6 months of the game?

Because the investigative agencies are under govt control and there are no independent agencies to do the investigation.

Commonwealth Games Scam

When so much money is stashed away by corrupt people, why no action is taken against them. Why we have so much national debt?

Jan Lokpal Bill

govt control.• Investigations to be completed in a year and

trial completed in the next one year• Loss caused by corrupt person to be

recovered at time of conviction• CVC and CBI Anti-Corruption will be merged

into Lokpal
