Create a Goal

• Think about why you want to communicate with people. • Set 3 goals now and we will come back to them.

Finding your audience online

• Knowing where to find your is audience is essential.

• Think of the ideal customer and their stereotypical demographics. Then find a network that matches.

• Eg: • Almost everyone is on Facebook.• Women are 4 times more likely to use Pinterest. • LinkedIn and Pinterest users are wealthier than the other

networks with a high percentage earning over $75000 PA.

Creating your message• What do you want to be?• What are you going to be talking about? • What can people take away from your posts?

• You can be anything you want to be on social media. It depends what suits your business.

• An Authority • A Broadcaster • A Trend setter • Pioneer

Creating your message

• Without a consistent message or theme to your posts then you will not pick up a strong followings fans or tribe.

• Create a consistent theme around your message and business so that you can plan a series content.

• Tips: the content you share doesn't’ have to be your own. Source some decent content for other sources to boost your credibility.

Creating Engagement

• Sourcing & creating engaging posts is one of the hardest things to do.

• Most companies think that the general public are just excited about their business as they are. WRONG.

• The only things people want from brands on social media is to be stimulated and to gain something from your content.

• So try and add VALUE whenever you can.

What people want!

Creating Engagement • Talk to people who share your interests or could be your

potential customers. Its called social networking for a reason.

• Use hashtags, links and add people into your posts to boost for contents exposure. #ealinghour is a great example of this.

• You will need to be proactive. Keep at it and people will notice you.

• Use images. People are more likely to engage with content with images attached.

• Tips: Be humorous! no one likes boring posts.

Creating Engagement. Promotions and Competitions • Try and suck people in with good deals but make sure its

consistent with your messaging. Discounts or giveaways are a good place to start.

Fun and Games• People like to be entertained. So every now and then post a

“funny” relevant to your message.

Company updates • Its always good to update your customers of what your

doing.

Access to exclusive content • Exclusive content adds value for your followers and tribe. Its

makes them feel like they are getting something for nothing.

Followers and Likes

• Gaining followers and likes is at the top of everyone’s mind and one of the main reason that people use social media for their business.

• Mass followers can look good but that doesn't’ mean they will engage with you.

• Building a smaller tribe of loyal and interested followers will help increase your engagement.

• Tips: Follow and like for influencers and authoritative figures and engage with them. People

• Tips: Thank the people who follow you and reply to those you engage with you.

Writing a post.• When writing your post think about what they need from

you. Make sure its consistent with your message.

• Less is more: try to use fewer words and more pictures

• Have a “call to action” (CTA)

• Reference where your info has come from.
